Women’s Health: When Should You See a GP?

Women’s health covers many stages of life, from adolescence and reproductive health through to pregnancy, menopause and beyond. Regular conversations with your GP can provide an opportunity to discuss concerns, preventative healthcare and changes in your health.

A GP appointment may be useful if you have concerns about menstrual changes, contraception, sexual health, breast health, menopause symptoms, nutrition, mental wellbeing or other ongoing health issues.

At Edmondson Park Medical, women’s health services include Pap smears, breast checks, contraception-related care, Mirena insertion, blood screening, iron infusions and mental health consultations.

You do not necessarily need to wait until you have significant symptoms before discussing your health with a GP. Some concerns may be easier to address when identified early.

If you have a health concern or are unsure whether you should make an appointment, contact the practice to discuss your options.
